BLACKPINK, the K-pop girl group currently on their largest world tour, is expanding their North American stadium performances.
According to their agency YG Entertainment on the 16th, BLACKPINK has confirmed additional encore performances on August 12 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, August 18 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, August 22 at the Oracle Park in San Francisco, and August 26 at the Dignity Health Sports Park in LA.
With this, BLACKPINK will meet their fans in 10 cities and 18 performances in North America alone, thanks to the explosive support and interest from local fans.
Initially, their North American tour was supposed to conclude with 14 performances in 7 cities in 2022, but due to overwhelming demand for additional shows, YG decided to add the encore concerts.
It is noteworthy that all of the venues for these concerts can accommodate tens of thousands of people. This is a sign of BLACKPINK's solid position in the US music market, the birthplace of pop music, as well as their broad popularity and overwhelming ticket power.
In fact, on the same day as the announcement of the encore concerts, on the 16th, BLACKPINK performed as the first Asian artist to headline at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a festival where music fans from all over the world gather. The four members, who thrilled the audience with their relentless performance, are expected to take the stage again on the 22nd and continue their fiery energy.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently on their largest world tour, "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]," which attracts about 1.5 million people. After successfully completing their North American and European tours last year, they are breathing with more fans in Asia. In July, they will become the first K-pop artist to headline the "Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival," the UK's top music festival.
