The group aespa is making a comeback to the music industry on May 8th.
On the afternoon of the 14th, SM Entertainment officially confirmed the news of aespa's comeback.
An official from SM Entertainment stated, "aespa will make a comeback on May 8th. We will soon release more details regarding the release and promotional schedule."
Last year, aespa released their second mini album, "Girls," in July. With this comeback, they are returning to the music industry after approximately 10 months.
aespa is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2020. The group consists of four members: Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. They debuted on November 17, 2020 with the digital single "Black Mamba".
aespa's concept involves the idea of "avatars" or "digital doubles" that represent the members in a virtual world called "æspa Universe." The group aims to showcase a new level of integration between the real world and the virtual world, through a variety of media such as music, videos, games, and augmented reality (AR) experiences.
Despite being a rookie group, aespa has gained a lot of attention and popularity both domestically and internationally, especially among younger generations. They have already won several awards and nominations, such as the "Rookie of the Year" award at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards and the 2021 Gaon Chart Music Awards.
