Yeosu-si is a city consisting of the Yeosu Peninsula and several islands in Jeollanam-do, located in the southwest of the Korean Peninsula.

In 2012, it was selected as the venue for the marine expo, and the Yeosu Station and Odongdo Island, a natural tourist destination, were combined to become the site of the expo. (Yeosu Station, the last stop, was also changed to Yeosu Expo Station.)

It is by far the best tourist city in Jeollanam-do. Tourism profits in Jeollanam-do are Yeosu, Suncheon, Gokseong, Jindo, Mokpo, and sequentially, but considering that Suncheon, the second-largest city, is in the early 10 billion range, it is a huge number.

It is known as the sea in summer, camellia in winter, Hyangilam to Buddhists, and as a battleground of the Imjin War to historians and Yeokdeokhu.

Unlike other cities, one of the attractions of this place is not to use ginkgo trees and platanus as street trees, but to use pine trees, camellia trees, and palm trees as street trees instead.

Yeosu City has many islands. There are 365 islands belonging to Yeosu-si, combining manned and uninhabited islands. Geomundo Island, famous for its British strength, also belongs to Samsan-myeon.

The number of tourists has increased rapidly since 2011-12 when the Yeosu Expo was held, KTX began to travel, and the song "Yeosu Night Sea" was released.

Yeosu Expo, Odongdo Island, Yeongchwisan Azalea, Heungguksa Temple, and Hyangilam are famous. Among them, Odongdo Island is very close to Yeosu Expo Station, so many tourists visit Odongdo Island during the Dongbaek tourism season from February to March.

Hyangilam sunrise is also famous, especially on December 31st to January 1st every year, the area around the hermitage is crowded with the New Year's sunrise. Since Hyangilam Hermitage is located at the end of Dolsando Island, tourists will be transported to Hyangilam Hermitage by shuttle bus from around Dolsandaegyo Bridge during the sunrise season.

City buses No. 111, No. 113 (city seat), and No. 114 go to the entrance of Geumosan Mountain, where Hyangilam is located. Other than that, you can only park your car to the parking lot a little away from the entrance.

Maybe because it's a beach, there are some beaches, but the size is not that big. Choongseong-ri Beach is known to be a rare black sand beach in Korea.

However, as the development progresses, a lot of sand has been lost, and the value of the beach has decreased. Unlike other beaches, it is difficult to replenish with yellow sand. In the end, when the condition of the beach became too bad, the beach was decided to be restored from 2013.

Busker Busker's "Yeosu Night Sea," written and composed by Jang Bum-joon, became a big hit, making Yeosu's beach night view a popular attraction. Of course, the main success factor in Yeosu tourism is the sound of Ugasae-ri, which is largely due to word of mouth because it has been carefully maintained and maintained the beach in time for the expo.

The beach trail connecting Dolsan Marine Park, Dolsan Bridge, Yi Sun-shin Square, and Jongpo Marine Park is known. Busking performances are also centered on this promenade. If one twist is true, the background of the actual song "Yeosu Night Sea" is not the Yeosu port area, which tourists usually visit, but Choongseong-ri Beach.

Yeosu Romantic Pocha Street is good to enjoy a meal in front of the night sea of Yeosu, where you can feel the heat of youth. Not only Yeosu's food, which is famous for seafood, but also the lively streets and attractions are added, making it perfect for the fun of traveling.
