ITZY stood out on the local music charts with its first Japanese single, "Voltage."


Japan's first original single "Voltage," officially released by ITZY on the 6th, rose to No. 2 on the Oricon daily single chart in Japan on the 5th, and topped the K-POP/World reservation chart and K-POP/World sales chart, confirming local fans. It was also ranked second on the Japanese iTunes K-pop Daily Album Chart and eighth on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart as of the 6th.





Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna held a live broadcast of an online event to commemorate the release of "Voltage" on ITZY's official Japanese YouTube channel at 8 p.m. on the 6th and met with local fans. The single featured a total of four tracks, including the title track "Voltage," the track "Spice," and the instrumental tracks of the two songs. The title song "Voltage" features intense rap and rock sound, comparing the group's thrilling energy to the song name "Voltage," and contains a confident message that "We will move forward proudly." The "Voltage" music video, released prior to its official release, topped the YouTube music video Trending Worldwide as of March 24, drawing attention from domestic and foreign fans.

ITZY released its best album "IT'z ITZY" in Japan on December 22, 2021, and made its debut in the local music industry. In November last year, he appeared on TV Asahi's "Music Station" and became the fastest K-pop artist to appear on the program before his official debut, and his debut album ranked third on the local iTunes album chart, signaling a strong start. About three months after his official debut, he proved his presence by winning the "Best 3 New Artists" award in Asia at the 36th Japan Gold Disc Awards in March this year.
