BTS's agency, HYBE, has expanded its audition to discover next-generation K-pop stars into a multi-label system. It has increased efficiency and is receiving enthusiastic responses.
On the 8th (local time), "HYBE MULTI –LABEL AUDITION" was held at the South Convention Center of the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Big Hit Music, BILIFRAP, Source Music, Pledis Entertainment, KOZ Entertainment, HYBE Labels Japan, and HYBE America participated in the audition on the first day of the day. From March 20 to midnight on April 4, HYBE received support in a total of three areas: vocals, rap, and dance, from 11 to 19 years old, regardless of gender. According to Hive, about 13,000 people submitted applications.
Only the age was limited to teenagers, and there were no qualification restrictions such as gender, race, or country. In particular, Hive created a space in which gender can be marked as "they" in the application form, and actual "they" participated in the audition. Non-binary, which does not distinguish oneself from men and women, refers to themselves as 'they', not 'he' or 'she'.
An HYBE official said, "Seven Hive labels are willing to participate in the audition by holding auditions in one place, but those who are hesitant because they are not sure what specific labels they have can show their capabilities in front of many labels looking for various artist profiles."
Starting with the 8th, HYBE will hold auditions for four days on the 9th, 15th, and 16th, which is the day when BTS will hold a concert at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. During this period, the decision was made to allow anyone visiting Las Vegas to experience the site freely, and on-site support and reception were possible even if no prior support was provided.
