Singer PSY is coming back.

Psy will release his 9th full-length album "PSY 9th Cheap 9" on various online music sites at home and abroad at 6 p.m. on the 29th.

Earlier, Psy raised expectations for the first time by introducing the new album title "Cheap 9," which means "Psy's colorful 9th album," through the comeback poster.

In the meantime, Psy added fun with titles that applied unique numerical language games such as the second album "Cy2", the third album "3 My", the fourth album "Cyfive", the fifth album "PSYFIVE", the sixth album "Cy6',", the seventh album "Chiljip Psy" and the eighth album "4X2=8".

He also drew attention by using his caricature as a cover for this album. Psy's signature style and facial expression were properly emphasized.

Psy's comeback is the first in more than five years since his 8th album "4X2=8" released in May 2017. In particular, this year is even more meaningful as it marks the 10th anniversary of the release of the mega-hit song "Gangnam Style," which made Psy a global star.

At that time, "Gangnam Style" was the first K-pop singer to rank second on the U.S. Billboard main chart "Hot 100" for seven weeks and enter the charts for 31 consecutive weeks, creating a sensational craze around the world.

This was the highest K-pop ranking in the chart before BTS (BTS) topped the "Hot 100" with "Dynamite," and it was also the longest entry record before BTS broke.

In addition, the music video of "Gangnam Style" also recorded an unprecedented record, surpassing 1 billion views and 2 billion views for the first time on YouTube. This was the first video that exceeded the limit of views that YouTube could display at the time, and it was also the beginning of changing the aggregation method. It is still proving its steady popularity, surpassing 4.38 billion views.

Psy wants to recreate the glory of 'Gangnam Style' once again. In response, Psy drew attention by posting a video containing such aspirations on his SNS on the 12th.

The video shows the live performance of the concert held on December 24, 2013, and it took exactly 10 years for Psy to make "Champion" in 2002 and win the "Champion" in front of the audience. In 2012, 'Gangnam Style' was released. Maybe it's 2022 when we meet songs like 'Gangnam Style' again," he said.

Expectations are high on whether he will create a mega-hit song that exceeds the stronghold of "Gangnam Style" this year as predicted in the past.
