The "World's No. 1 K-POP Music Awards 2021 Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS (2021 MAMA)" ended successfully by making music fans around the world communicate within the language of K-POP beyond region and culture.

"2021 MAMA" marked a new page in MAMA history with the all-time stage scale, advanced performance technology, and amazing performances of artists. Performances with various stories, including the value of the new era shown by Lee Hyo-ri and all crew members of "Street Woman Fighter," and the future of hope expressed by fourth-generation idol groups, drew attention.

In addition, Rain, Song Joong-ki, Ed Sheeran, and Han Ye-ri conveyed the concept of "MAKE SOME NOISE," which expressed the strong power of music to respect each other's values and become a bigger one across the walls of the country, race, and generation. Based on this, it has successfully created a venue for festivals where artists and fans can communicate and enjoy music together.

2021 MAMA was broadcast live on Mnet, tvN Show, and Olive at the same time. It was broadcast live to more than 200 countries and regions around the world through channels in various parts of Asia, including Mnet Japan, tvN Asia, and JOOX, as well as four YouTube channels including OTT platforms and Mnet K-POP.

During the MAMA, global K-pop fans' responses were also hot online. "2021 MAMA" topped Twitter's real-time trend worldwide. In addition, keywords related to MAMA events showed off their potential to rank first in 36 regions around the world. Interest in artists appearing in MAMA was also high. Related words such as the name of the 2021 MAMA event and the artists who appeared were ranked on Twitter trends in 113 regions, including Korea, the United States, Belgium, Italy, Brazil, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates.

In addition, the votes held on Apple Music, Twitter, and its official website, which decided on the "Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10 of the Year," totaled about 112.21 million votes, proving the keen interest of global K-POP fans.

This year's 2021 MAMA was the first year to make major changes to the screening method in order to evenly reflect the popularity and workability reflecting global K-POP trends in the screening process.

Apple Music data, a global music platform serviced in 167 countries around the world, was additionally reflected in the screening. In addition, the screening was divided into categories of selecting artists and works that contributed to the development of K-POP this year with various indicators and quantitative evaluations by professional judges, and artists who led this year's K-POP trend through global voting. In addition, in order to ensure fairness with the global awards ceremony, Samil PwC, a member of PwC who has been managing voting for nearly 90 years, conducted voting aggregation and inspection of the entire process.

As a result, the honor of winning the four grand prizes, Singer of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Worldwide Icon of the Year, all went to BTS.

BTS said, "This year, we received a precious award thanks to ARMY's love. We tried to give strength and comfort this year, but we are grateful that you sympathized with the music that contains our hearts and enjoyed it together. We will share the honor with everyone who has worked hard to make great songs and performances with us. Above all, I think it is an award that we receive with ARMY who love our music hotly, he said. "I will run harder so that BTS's music can be a little bit of comfort and hope in difficult moments," he said, raising expectations for future activities.

MAMA, which showed the best artist lineup every year, again proved its status as a "World's No.1 K-POP Music Awards" this year, boasting a lineup of super-luxury artists representing K-pop's past and present.

In addition, artists such as Espa, ATEEZ, Brave Girls, ENHYPEN, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and Jannabi, who led the global K-pop trend this year, attended and responded to fans' support with the best stage.
